2NE1 confirmed for Music Core comeback!

YG Entertainment’s hot 4 female group 2NE1, has just been confirmed for a comeback via MBC Music Core!
It’s been approximately 9 months since the girls debuted and this will be their first performance on an MBC music program, due to political issues between the two companies, YG Entertainment and MBC. But all of that has apparently been settled, so fans will be able to see these girls 3 times a week on the major music programs, well maybe even 4 times, once Mnet’s M! Countdown returns on air.
2NE1 will make their Music Core comeback with their latest single, “Try to copy me,” on the 20th – stay tuned!
Wonder Girls Explain Sunmi's Withdrawal

The controversy generated by the withdrawal of Sunmi from the internationally renowned pop group Wonder Girls has not subsided.
On February 8, 2010, four members of the K-pop group met with fans to explain their side on the issue.
Sunye, Yoobin, Ye-eun, Sohee and representatives from the Wonder Girls' Korean fan clubs met at the JYP Entertainment headquarters in Cheongdam, Seoul.
Understandably, Sunmi as well as new member Hae Lim, were not present in the meeting.
One of the issues raised during the meeting was the Wonder Girls’ seemingly rushed entry into the US market. Many fans thought the group is not yet prepared to do so.
The Wonder Girls told the fans that carving a career in the US was a long-time dream of all the members and as such, everyone thought it imperative to strike while the iron is hot.
According to the group, they wanted the chance so much that Sohee and Sunmi even had to quit high school to focus on their US careers.
JYPE didn't shed light on why Sunmi decided to abruptly quit the group. Earlier reports had it that Sunmi was homesick and she missed her family a lot.
The girls also defended new member Lim from criticisms that she could not possibly fill Sunmi’s shoes in the group. They said Lim has a lot of potential.
Some fans said they respect Sunmi’s decision and would welcome Lim to the group. Others said the Wonder Girls would not be complete without Sunmi.
Lim had her first performance with the Wonder Girls in China last February 5.
Sunmi is staying in the US. She is set to fly home to South Korea in March to prepare for her studies.

4minute’s Thailand showcase is a success

What a surprise! We knew that 4minute had lots of fame in Korea, but we didn’t know they were such a hit in Thailand!
The girls crossed borders to promote their album overseas, and a whopping 7000 fans attended their showcase. K-pop is dominating the Thailand music scene at the moment, and it’s been made known that various boy groups are faring quite well in this country. I guess it’s the same for girl groups, as 4minute was widely recognized and very popular both in Thailand and across Asia.
The group also got themselves on the first page of a major newspaper company called Daily News. It seems like they will have a very busy schedule outside of Korea, as they are climbing up the charts in Thailand and all over Asia. Let’s hope their album is a success!
